Health Information Technician

Responsibilities:

1. Accurately code and enter patient health information into electronic databases
2. Maintain patient records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
3. Respond to requests for patient information from other medical professionals
4. Monitor and update patient information on a daily basis
5. Create and maintain charts, documents, and other information related to patient care
6. Perform data entry tasks using Health Information Technology (HIT) systems
7. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient records
8. Ensure the security and confidentiality of patient records
9. Assist in the development and implementation of health information policies and procedures
10. Assist in the training of new health information staff
11. Monitor and review audit reports for accuracy and completeness
12. Maintain current knowledge of coding and reimbursement systems, as well as changes in healthcare regulations and standards
