
Health Information Technician

We’re seeking an individual with strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring our patients’ medical records are accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, as well as a certificate or associate degree in Health Information Technology. We also require a comprehensive understanding of health information systems, HIPAA regulations, and medical terminology. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize health information systems to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Monitor and review health information for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide assistance with coding, filing, and entering medical records into the system.
- Ensure patient privacy and security of medical information.
- Resolve discrepancies in medical records.
- Communicate with healthcare teams to ensure accuracy of patient information.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in health information technology.
- Update medical records according to changes in patient care.
- Assist in training and orienting new personnel in the use of health information systems.
