
Health Information Technician
We are looking for an experienced Health Information Technician to join our team at BJC HealthCare. As a Health Information Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining patient records and ensuring all information is recorded correctly and stored securely. To be successful in this role, you must have a keen attention to detail and be able to work independently but also as part of a team. If you have a passion for healthcare and are looking to join a team of professionals dedicated to providing excellent care, we want to hear from you!The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, along with a certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). An Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology or a related field is also preferred. You must have a strong understanding of medical terminology, as well as knowledge of coding and classification systems. Additionally, excellent organizational and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain patient records and ensure all information is recorded correctly and stored securely.
- Follow coding and classification systems to accurately document patient information.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Utilize data entry and other electronic systems to collect, compile, and maintain medical records.
- Make sure all medical records are current and up-to-date.
- Work with other healthcare professionals to ensure accuracy of medical records.
- Generate reports for management and other healthcare personnel.
- Resolve discrepancies in patient records.
- Provide assistance to healthcare providers in retrieving patient information.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide guidance and support.
