  1. Provide compassionate and skilled care to patients in the Emergency Department.
  2. Assist healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care to patients.
  3. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
  4. Help to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  5. Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  6. Respond promptly to patient requests and needs.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  8. Document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  9. Utilize medical equipment and supplies properly and safely.
  10. Adhere to all healthcare policies, procedures, and protocols.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and enhance skills.
  12. Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless and efficient patient care.
  13. Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their rights and privacy.
  14. Demonstrate empathy, kindness, and sensitivity towards patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The First Qualification For A Patient Care Technician At Bjc Healthcare Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform Their Job Duties Effectively.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Bjc Healthcare Requires All Patient Care Technicians To Have A Cna Certification. This Certification Demonstrates That Candidates Have Received Specialized Training And Have The Necessary Skills To Provide Direct Patient Care In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Bls/Cpr Certification: As A Patient Care Technician, It Is Important To Have The Skills And Knowledge To Respond Quickly In Emergency Situations. Bjc Healthcare Requires All Candidates To Have A Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Cpr) Certification.

  • Previous Healthcare Experience: While It Is Not A Requirement, Bjc Healthcare Prefers Candidates Who Have Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In An Emergency Department. This Shows That Candidates Have An Understanding Of The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of The Emergency Department.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Patient Care Technician, Candidates Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
