  1. Perform cytology procedures and accurately identify and classify cellular samples to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.
  2. Adhere to strict quality control measures to ensure accurate and timely results.
  3. Utilize advanced laboratory equipment and techniques to analyze and interpret cellular samples.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all samples and results.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to discuss test results and provide recommendations for patient care.
  6. Stay current on industry advancements and techniques in cytology to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare providers.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  10. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
  11. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and protocols.
  12. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  14. Act as a mentor and resource for trainees and new employees.
  15. Adhere to BJC HealthCare's mission, values, and policies at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology Or Related Field.

  • Certification From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Cytotechnologist.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Techniques, Procedures, And Equipment.

  • Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Accurately Under Pressure.
