Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Vascular Access, Part Time

- Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients to determine their vascular access needs.
- Establish and maintain intravenous (IV) access for pediatric patients.
- Monitor and assess the condition of pediatric patients' vascular access sites.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients with vascular access needs.
- Administer medication and fluids through established IV lines.
- Educate pediatric patients and their families on the importance of maintaining proper vascular access care.
- Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices in pediatric vascular access nursing.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to pediatric patients and their families during procedures.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and educational opportunities.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of pediatric patients and their families.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Vascular Access At Bjc Healthcare Should Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Nurse Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theories, Clinical Skills, And Evidence-Based Practice.
Registered Nurse (Rn) License: All Clinical Nurses At Bjc Healthcare Must Hold A Valid Rn License In The State Where They Work. This License Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Minimum Requirements For Education And Competency In The Field Of Nursing.
Pediatric Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Pediatric Nursing Experience Is Required For This Position. This Experience Should Include Caring For Patients With Vascular Access Needs, Such As Picc Lines, Central Lines, And Peripheral Ivs.
Certification: Bjc Healthcare Values Nurses Who Have Pursued Additional Certifications In Their Field. A Certification In Pediatric Vascular Access, Such As The Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (Crni) Or The Vascular Access Certification Corporation (Vacc), Is Preferred For This Position.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Clinical Nurse - Pediatric Vascular Access, The Ability To Communicate And Collaborate Effectively With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Team Members Is Crucial. This Includes Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
