- Provide compassionate and high-quality patient care in the Apheresis Department.
- Monitor and assess patient's physical and emotional well-being before, during, and after apheresis procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about apheresis procedures, potential risks and benefits, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
- Utilize clinical expertise to troubleshoot and respond to any potential adverse reactions or complications during apheresis procedures.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on advancements in apheresis technology and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide support and guidance to colleagues and students as needed.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bsn Degree Is Typically Required For A Clinical Nurse-Apheresis Department Job At Bjc Healthcare. This Degree Provides The Necessary Foundation In Nursing Principles And Practices.
Current Rn License: All Clinical Nurse-Apheresis Department Jobs At Bjc Healthcare Require A Valid And Current Rn License In The State Where The Job Is Located. This License Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The Necessary Educational And Competency Requirements To Practice Nursing.
Apheresis Experience: Experience In Apheresis Procedures Is Highly Preferred For This Job. This Includes Knowledge And Skills In Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Collection, Therapeutic Apheresis, And Stem Cell Processing.
Critical Care Experience: Bjc Healthcare Looks For Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Critical Care Setting, Such As An Intensive Care Unit Or Emergency Department. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation In Dealing With Critically Ill Patients And Managing Complex Medical Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Clinical Nurse In The Apheresis Department, The Candidate Will Work With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Laboratory Staff, And Other Nurses. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential To Ensure Efficient And Effective Patient Care.
