
Child Life Specialist (PRN)

- Provide emotional support and developmentally appropriate interventions to pediatric patients and their families during their hospital stay
- Create and implement child life programs and activities to promote coping, play, and normalcy for pediatric patients
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess and address the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families
- Utilize knowledge of child development and family dynamics to support and educate parents and caregivers on how to best support their child during hospitalization
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of interventions and patient progress
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and meetings to advocate for the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients
- Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and organizations to provide additional support and resources for pediatric patients and their families
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set by the Child Life Council and BJC HealthCare
- Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional development in the field of child life
- Maintain a safe and child-friendly environment for patients and families, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Collaborate with other child life specialists and team members to ensure consistent and quality care for pediatric patients and families.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field
Certification As A Child Life Specialist (Ccls)
Minimum Of 1 Year Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist In A Healthcare Setting
Knowledge Of Child Development And Understanding Of The Impact Of Illness/Hospitalization On Children And Families
Ability To Work Prn (As Needed) And Have Flexible Availability, Including Weekends And Holidays.
