
Child Life Specialist (part time)

- Provide emotional and psychosocial support to children and their families during hospitalization and illness.
- Utilize knowledge and expertise in child development, play therapy, and family support to create individualized care plans for each patient.
- Communicate and collaborate with medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure coordinated care for patients.
- Facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities for patients, both individually and in group settings.
- Educate and prepare children for medical procedures and treatments in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Serve as an advocate for the needs and rights of children in the healthcare setting.
- Assess the psychosocial needs of patients and their families and provide appropriate interventions and referrals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress.
- Provide support and resources for families to help them cope with the stress and challenges of having a child in the hospital.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in child life and integrate them into practice.
- Collaborate with community organizations and volunteers to enhance the child life program.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care plans.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Act as a liaison between the hospital and schools to support patients' educational needs.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude and serve as a role model for other staff members.
Bachelor's Degree In Child Life, Child Development, Or Related Field
Certified Child Life Specialist (Ccls) Through The Association Of Child Life Professionals
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Child Life Specialist
Knowledge Of Child Development And Therapeutic Play Techniques
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Children And Families In A Healthcare Setting.
