Child Life Specialist (part time)

1. Provide emotional and psychosocial support to children and their families during hospitalization and illness.
2. Utilize knowledge and expertise in child development, play therapy, and family support to create individualized care plans for each patient.
3. Communicate and collaborate with medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure coordinated care for patients.
4. Facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities for patients, both individually and in group settings.
5. Educate and prepare children for medical procedures and treatments in a developmentally appropriate manner.
6. Serve as an advocate for the needs and rights of children in the healthcare setting.
7. Assess the psychosocial needs of patients and their families and provide appropriate interventions and referrals.
8. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress.
9. Provide support and resources for families to help them cope with the stress and challenges of having a child in the hospital.
10. Stay updated on current research and best practices in child life and integrate them into practice.
11. Collaborate with community organizations and volunteers to enhance the child life program.
12. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on patient care plans.
13. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
14. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
15. Act as a liaison between the hospital and schools to support patients' educational needs.
