Job Description

  1. Provide compassionate care to patients with cardiac conditions in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  2. Conduct diagnostic tests and procedures on patients, including cardiac catheterization and angiograms.
  3. Administer medications and monitor patients' vital signs during procedures.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  5. Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, procedures, and post-procedure care.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
  7. Ensure safe and sanitary working conditions in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  8. Monitor and respond to changes in patients' conditions and report any concerns to physicians.
  9. Stay up-to-date on advancements in cardiac care and procedures.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  12. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during procedures.
  13. Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive demeanor, even in high-stress situations.
  15. Serve as a patient advocate and ensure that patients' needs are met and their rights are respected.
  16. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in patient care.
  17. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve nursing skills.
  18. Act as a resource and mentor for other nursing staff in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  19. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: Candidates For This Position Must Hold A Current, Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Missouri.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications From The American Heart Association.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Cath Lab Experience: Bjc Healthcare Is Seeking A Candidate With At Least Two Years Of Experience Working In A Cath Lab Setting.

  • Critical Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills: The Cardiac Cath Lab Rn Must Be Able To Think Quickly And Make Critical Decisions During Procedures, As Well As Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Cath Lab Operates At A Fast Pace, So Candidates Should Be Able To Thrive In A Busy And High-Stress Environment While Maintaining A Calm And Professional Demeanor.
