
BMT Oncology PRN Clinical Nurse

- Provide exceptional care to cancer patients undergoing bone marrow transplants and other oncology treatments.
- Monitor and assess patient's physical and emotional well-being, and provide appropriate interventions and support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including observations, assessments, and interventions.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Stay current with advancements and best practices in oncology nursing through continuing education and professional development.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families by addressing their concerns and needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated care for patients.
- Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and handle emergencies effectively.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor while providing care to patients and their families.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to less experienced nursing staff.
- Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided to patients through participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Missouri.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Oncology Nurse, Preferably In A Bmt Setting.
Certification In Oncology Nursing (Ocn) Or Bone Marrow Transplant (Bmt) Preferred.
