- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with medical equipment, utilizing knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, as well as documentation of equipment usage and inventory.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective resolution of equipment issues.
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and advancements in the biomedical field, and make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols when working with medical equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential problems to prevent downtime and ensure patient safety.
- Respond to emergency equipment failures and provide timely and effective solutions.
- Train and mentor other technicians, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and properly dispose of hazardous materials.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
- Participate in department meetings and provide input on ways to improve processes and procedures.
- Uphold the mission and values of BJC HealthCare and promote a positive work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff, addressing any concerns or questions in a professional and timely manner.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
Bachelor's Degree In Biomedical Engineering Or Related Field
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Biomedical Technology
Knowledge Of Medical Equipment Mechanics And Electronics
Familiarity With Regulatory Requirements And Safety Standards For Medical Equipment
Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment.
