Billing Specialist

BJC HealthCare is looking for an experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated professional with a proven track record of success in a medical billing environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of billing protocols and procedures, as well as a broad knowledge of medical coding and reimbursement requirements. We are seeking an individual who will provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and compliance. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience in medical billing, have a thorough understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding, be familiar with insurance carrier requirements, and be proficient in using a billing software program. They should also have excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as a customer-oriented attitude and strong communication skills. This position requires the ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing needs.

Responsibilities:

• Process medical bills according to applicable protocols and procedures
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with billing regulations
• Code medical bills using CPT and ICD-10 coding
• Maintain thorough knowledge of insurance carrier requirements
• Utilize billing software program to create and submit claims
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payments
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve billing issues
• Follow up on unpaid claims and collaborate with insurance carriers
• Develop and implement strategies to improve billing processes and customer service
• Prepare and submit reports to management on billing activity
• Perform other duties as assigned.
