Billing Specialist

BJC HealthCare is seeking an experienced and qualified Billing Specialist to join our team in St. Louis, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the billing process and ensuring accuracy and timely payments from insurance providers and patients.We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a detail-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a billing office, as well as a working knowledge of medical coding. Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of the billing process, including billing claims, collecting on accounts, and ensuring accuracy and timely payments from insurance providers and patients.
2. Utilize medical coding and insurance payer knowledge to ensure accuracy of billing claims.
3. Develop strong working relationships with insurance providers and patients to ensure timely payments and resolution of any billing issues.
4. Monitor and analyze billing trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
5. Research and resolve billing discrepancies and other customer inquiries.
6. Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on billing activities.
7. Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
8. Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues as needed.
