
Audiologist - Pediatrics

- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations for pediatric patients with hearing loss.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, patient needs, and family goals.
- Provide hearing aid fittings and adjustments for pediatric patients, ensuring proper amplification and functionality.
- Collaborate with physicians, speech language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Educate parents and caregivers on hearing loss, treatment options, and strategies for communication and language development.
- Monitor and track patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in pediatric audiology and implement evidence-based practices in patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with school systems, early intervention programs, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for pediatric patients.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices and protocols for pediatric audiology services.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical standards in the delivery of audiology services.
- Foster a positive and welcoming environment for pediatric patients and their families, providing emotional support and reassurance throughout the treatment process.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth, including attending conferences, trainings, and workshops related to pediatric audiology.
- Act as an advocate for children with hearing loss, promoting awareness and understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
- Uphold the mission and values of BJC HealthCare, and contribute to a culture of excellence and compassion in providing care to pediatric patients with hearing loss.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively In A Multidisciplinary Team.
Doctoral Degree In Audiology (Au.d.) From An Accredited University.
Current State Licensure And Certification In Audiology.
Previous Experience Working With Pediatric Patients, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Pediatric Audiology, Including Developmental Milestones And Communication Disorders.
