- Provide individual and group art therapy sessions to patients of all ages, utilizing various art mediums and techniques to promote healing and improve overall well-being.
- Develop treatment plans and goals in collaboration with patients and their healthcare team, based on their unique needs and challenges.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress and outcomes of art therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure a holistic and comprehensive treatment approach for patients.
- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients to determine the most effective art therapy interventions.
- Educate patients and their families on the benefits of art therapy and how it can help them cope with their health challenges.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients during art therapy sessions, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in the field of art therapy, incorporating new techniques and strategies into patient care.
- Provide support and guidance to patients, helping them to express their emotions and process their experiences through art.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to facilitate art therapy programs and events for patients and the wider community.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to enhance the quality of care provided to patients.
- Adhere to BJC HealthCare's mission and values, promoting a positive and inclusive healthcare environment for patients and staff.
Master's Degree In Art Therapy Or Related Field, With At Least 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting.
Board Certification As An Art Therapist (Atr-Bc) Through The Art Therapy Credentials Board.
Knowledge And Experience In A Variety Of Art Therapy Modalities And Techniques, Including Group And Individual Therapy.
Ability To Assess And Diagnose Mental Health Conditions And Develop Treatment Plans That Incorporate Art Therapy Interventions.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Other Healthcare Professionals And Provide Compassionate Care To Patients.
