
Anesthesia Technician

- Assist anesthesia providers in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Set up and operate various monitoring devices and equipment used during anesthesia procedures.
- Prepare and maintain patient monitoring systems and anesthesia machines, including troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
- Ensure all anesthesia equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and organized according to safety standards.
- Restock and reorder supplies as needed to ensure that anesthesia services are not interrupted.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia services.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new anesthesia technicians and other healthcare staff.
- Monitor patient vital signs and communicate any changes or concerns to anesthesia providers.
- Provide support during emergency situations, such as cardiac arrests or other medical emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records of anesthesia equipment maintenance, usage, and repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Anesthesia Technicians At Bjc Healthcare Are Required To Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of A Recognized Anesthesia Technician Training Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Recognized Anesthesia Technician Program, Which Includes Coursework In Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, And Anesthesia Technology.
Certification As An Anesthesia Technician: Bjc Healthcare Requires Candidates To Hold A Certification As An Anesthesia Technician From A Recognized Certifying Body Such As The American Society Of Anesthesia Technologists And Technicians (Asatt).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Surgical Or Perioperative Setting.
Knowledge Of Anesthesia Equipment And Procedures: Candidates Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Anesthesia Equipment, Procedures, And Safety Protocols. They Should Also Be Familiar With Anesthesia Medications, Dosages, And Potential Side Effects.
