We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Assistant Brewer to join our team and help maintain our high standards of quality and consistency. As an Assistant Brewer, you will work closely with our Head Brewer to assist in all aspects of the brewing process.   1. Assist the Head Brewer in all aspects of the brewing process, including recipe development, ingredient selection, brewing, and packaging.
  2. Maintain a high level of quality and consistency in all batches of beer.
  3. Ensure that all brewing equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
  4. Monitor and record fermentation, temperature, and other vital brewing metrics.
  5. Help maintain inventory levels of brewing ingredients and supplies.
  6. Collaborate with the Head Brewer to troubleshoot and problem-solve any issues that may arise during the brewing process.
  7. Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards in the brewery.
  8. Assist with scheduling and coordinating production runs to meet demand.
  9. Continuously strive to improve and innovate brewing techniques and processes.
  10. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with team members and interacting with customers.
  11. Collaborate with other departments, such as kitchen staff, to ensure seamless operations and a cohesive product.
  12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in brewing techniques and ingredients.
  13. Assist with training and mentoring new brewery employees.
  14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  15. Represent BJ's Restaurants in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Brewing Techniques And Equipment: A Successful Assistant Brewer At Bj's Restaurants Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Brewing Techniques, Including Mashing, Lautering, Boiling, And Fermentation. They Should Also Be Familiar With The Equipment Used In The Brewing Process, Such As Brew Kettles, Fermenters, And Bottling Machines.

  • Experience In The Brewing Industry: Previous Experience In The Brewing Industry Is An Important Qualification For An Assistant Brewer At Bj's Restaurants. This Could Include Working At A Brewery, Home Brewing, Or Completing A Brewing Program At A College Or University.

  • Attention To Detail: Brewing Requires Precision And Attention To Detail To Ensure The Consistency And Quality Of The Beer. An Assistant Brewer Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Recipes And Procedures Accurately.

  • Physical Stamina And Strength: Brewing Can Be Physically Demanding, With Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Bags Of Grain Or Moving Large Barrels Of Beer. An Assistant Brewer Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: The Brewing Process Involves Working Closely With A Team, Including The Head Brewer, Other Assistant Brewers, And Production Staff. Strong Teamwork And Communication Skills Are Essential For A Successful Assistant Brewer At Bj's Restaurants.
