We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Brewer to join our team and assist in the production and maintenance of our award-winning brews. As an Assistant Brewer, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team and learn the ins and outs of the brewing process while utilizing your expertise and creativity.   1. Assist in the production of high-quality, handcrafted beers according to established recipes and standards.
  2. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of brewing equipment and brewing area.
  3. Participate in the brewing process, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, and fermentation.
  4. Perform quality control checks throughout the brewing process to ensure consistency and quality of the final product.
  5. Assist in recipe development and experimentation to create new and innovative beers.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of brewing supplies and ingredients.
  7. Operate and maintain brewing equipment, including cleaning and troubleshooting as needed.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  9. Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in the brewing industry.
  11. Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
  13. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  14. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  15. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge Of Brewing Processes And Techniques: A Successful Assistant Brewer At Bj's Restaurants Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Brewing Processes And Techniques, Including Mashing, Boiling, Fermentation, And Packaging.

  • Experience In A Commercial Brewery: Previous Experience Working In A Commercial Brewery Is Highly Desirable For An Assistant Brewer At Bj's Restaurants. This Includes Familiarity With Equipment, Safety Protocols, And Quality Control Measures.

  • Ability To Follow Recipes And Maintain Consistency: As An Assistant Brewer, It Is Crucial To Follow Recipes Accurately And Maintain Consistency In The Brewing Process. This Requires Attention To Detail And A Strong Understanding Of Ingredient Ratios And Measurements.

  • Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: Brewing Is A Physically Demanding Job That Often Involves Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects. Therefore, An Assistant Brewer Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: The Brewing Process At Bj's Restaurants Is A Collaborative Effort, And An Assistant Brewer Must Be Able To Work Well With Others And Communicate Effectively. This Includes Communicating Any Issues Or Concerns To The Head Brewer And Working Together To Solve Problems.
