As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a Corporate Counsel with a focus on Privacy and Regulatory to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with all relevant privacy laws and regulations, as well as advising on various regulatory matters. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who is passionate about privacy and regulatory issues and has a strong background in corporate law. Ensure compliance with all relevant privacy laws and regulations.
Advise on various regulatory matters related to the home buying process.
Stay up-to-date on all changes and updates to privacy and regulatory laws.
Conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues related to privacy and regulatory compliance.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Provide guidance and training to internal teams on privacy and regulatory matters.
Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with an emphasis on privacy and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with other members of the legal team to identify and address privacy and regulatory risks.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure privacy and regulatory compliance in product development and marketing.
Represent the company in legal proceedings related to privacy and regulatory matters.
Proactively identify potential privacy and regulatory issues and provide strategic solutions.
Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
Participate in industry events and conferences to stay informed on current privacy and regulatory trends.
Maintain accurate and organized legal records and documentation.
Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company by providing legal support and expertise in privacy and regulatory matters.

Job Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School: A Corporate Counsel - Privacy And Regulatory At Better Mortgage Must Have A Law Degree From A Reputable Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Legal Principles And Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Privacy And Regulatory Law: Better Mortgage Is Looking For A Candidate With Significant Experience In Privacy And Regulatory Law, Preferably In The Financial Services Industry. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Deep Understanding Of The Complexities Of These Areas And Can Effectively Navigate Them.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Privacy Laws: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal And State Privacy Laws, Including But Not Limited To The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (Glba), The Fair Credit Reporting Act (Fcra), And The California Consumer Privacy Act (Ccpa). This Knowledge Is Crucial For Ensuring Compliance And Mitigating Risk.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Corporate Counsel - Privacy And Regulatory, The Candidate Will Be Tasked With Identifying And Addressing Potential Privacy And Regulatory Issues. This Requires Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Evaluate Complex Situations And Develop Effective Solutions.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Abilities: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, To Effectively Interact With Internal Stakeholders And External Parties. They Must Also Have The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams To Implement Privacy And Regulatory Strategies And Initiatives.
