We are currently seeking a talented and dynamic Band Director to lead our renowned marching band program.   1. Lead and direct the marching band program at Benedict College, overseeing all aspects of the program including rehearsals, performances, and recruitment.
  2. Develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative curriculum that aligns with the college's mission and goals.
  3. Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and success.
  4. Provide musical instruction and guidance to students, helping them develop their technical skills and musicality.
  5. Collaborate with other faculty members to coordinate performances and events that showcase the talents of the marching band.
  6. Recruit and retain talented students to participate in the marching band program.
  7. Manage the budget and resources for the marching band program, ensuring responsible and efficient use of funds.
  8. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and the college community about the marching band program and its activities.
  9. Stay current with trends and developments in marching band and music education, incorporating new techniques and strategies into the program.
  10. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students, promoting a strong work ethic, discipline, and professionalism.
  11. Maintain a high standard of excellence and uphold the traditions and values of the marching band program and Benedict College.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Music Education Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Teaching And Directing A Band Ensemble.

  • Strong Knowledge And Proficiency In A Variety Of Musical Genres, Including Classical, Jazz, And Contemporary Music.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Mentor Band Students.

  • Ability To Collaborate With Other Faculty Members And Participate In Departmental Events And Performances.
