We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Polysomnographic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our sleep specialists to perform diagnostic sleep studies and provide exceptional patient care.   1. Conduct diagnostic sleep studies according to established protocols and standards set by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
  2. Prepare and calibrate equipment and ensure proper functioning prior to each study.
  3. Monitor patients during sleep studies, including recording and analyzing data from various physiological parameters such as brain waves, eye movements, and muscle activity.
  4. Recognize and respond to any patient discomfort or emergency situations during the study.
  5. Document and maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, medications, and sleep patterns.
  6. Collaborate with sleep specialists to review sleep study results and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
  7. Educate patients on proper sleep hygiene and treatment options for their specific sleep disorder.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized sleep lab environment and ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  9. Attend training and continuing education opportunities to stay updated on advancements in sleep medicine and technology.
  10. Adhere to all policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
  12. Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance the sleep lab's services.
  13. Participate in on-call duties as needed to provide 24/7 coverage for sleep studies.
  14. Uphold BayCare's mission and values while promoting a positive and welcoming work environment.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (Cpsgt) Or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Credential From A Recognized Accrediting Organization, Such As The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt) Or The American Board Of Sleep Medicine (Absm).

  • At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Performing Sleep Studies And Interpreting Results In A Clinical Setting.

  • Proficiency In Operating And Troubleshooting Polysomnography Equipment, Including Eeg, Eog, Emg, Ecg, And Respiratory Monitoring Devices.

  • Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders And Their Treatments, As Well As The Ability To Recognize Abnormal Sleep Patterns And Artifacts In Sleep Study Data.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment.
