- Support Managed Care Operations: The primary responsibility of the Managed Care Technician will be to support the managed care operations of BayCare Health System. This will involve providing administrative and technical support to the managed care team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Ensure Efficient Utilization of Healthcare Resources: The Managed Care Technician will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing healthcare utilization data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency. They will also assist in implementing strategies to optimize utilization of healthcare resources.
- Maintain Accurate Records: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to managed care activities. This will involve data entry, filing, and record-keeping in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Communicate with Insurance Providers: The Managed Care Technician will be responsible for communicating with insurance providers to verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and resolve any billing or claims issues. They will also assist in negotiating contracts and rates with insurance companies.

Knowledge Of Managed Care Principles: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Fundamentals Of Managed Care, Including Reimbursement Models, Utilization Management, And Contract Negotiations.
Experience With Electronic Health Records: As A Managed Care Technician, Candidates Will Be Responsible For Maintaining Electronic Health Records And Ensuring Accurate Documentation. Experience With Ehr Systems, Such As Epic Or Cerner, Is Highly Desirable.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In This Role, As Managed Care Technicians Will Be Interacting With Various Healthcare Professionals, Insurance Companies, And Patients. Candidates Should Be Able To Communicate Effectively Both Verbally And In Writing.
