Lactation Consultant - RN

At BayCare Health System, we are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Lactation Consultant. The ideal candidate for this role will have an extensive background in providing support and education to mothers and families about breastfeeding, in addition to being knowledgeable in the clinical management of breastfeeding. The Lactation Consultant - RN will be an integral part of providing high quality and comprehensive care to the families we serve. This position requires a valid Registered Nurse license, as well as current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). A minimum of two years of experience with breastfeeding in a clinical setting is also required. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, be a strong communicator and have a passion for enriching the lives of mothers and families. Responsibilities of a Lactation Consultant - RN:

1. Provide support and education to mothers and families about breastfeeding.
2. Perform clinical management of breastfeeding.
3. Utilize current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
4. Maintain valid Registered Nurse license.
5. Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in breastfeeding.
6. Manage and coordinate care plans for mothers and families.
7. Develop and implement strategies for improving breastfeeding outcomes.
8. Collaborate with other health care professionals to promote the best possible outcomes for mothers and families.
9. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust plans of care accordingly.
10. Communicate effectively with mothers and families to ensure their needs are met.
