- Perform accurate and timely electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients as ordered by medical staff.
- Monitor and record patient's heart rate, rhythm, and other vital signs during EKG procedures.
- Operate and maintain EKG equipment, ensuring proper function and following safety protocols.
- Recognize and troubleshoot any technical issues with EKG equipment and report to appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely transmission of EKG results for diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on the purpose and procedures of an EKG and provide reassurance and support during the process.
- Document and maintain accurate records of EKG procedures and results.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and their families to provide a positive and comfortable experience.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements and changes in EKG technology and procedures through continuing education and training.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

Completion Of An Accredited Ekg Technician Training Program: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For This Role, But Many Employers Prefer Candidates Who Have Completed A Formal Training Program.
