  1. Utilize advanced data analytics techniques to extract insights and identify patterns from large and complex datasets.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and develop data-driven solutions.
  3. Develop and implement statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to support decision making.
  4. Communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Continuously evaluate and improve data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  6. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data science and bring new ideas and techniques to the team.
  7. Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists within the team.
  8. Manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  9. Work closely with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure and tools meet the needs of data analysis and modeling.
  10. Adhere to data privacy and security standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  11. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Represent BASF in industry conferences and events to showcase our data science capabilities.
  13. Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  14. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new data science team members.
  15. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and drive innovation in data science processes and methodologies.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Data Science Or Related Field: A Senior Data Scientist At Basf Should Possess At Least A Master's Degree In Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Or A Related Field. This Advanced Education Will Provide A Strong Foundation In Data Analysis And Machine Learning Techniques.

  • Extensive Experience In Data Analysis And Statistical Modeling: Candidates For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Data Analysis And Statistical Modeling. This Experience Should Include Working With Large Datasets, Developing Predictive Models, And Interpreting Complex Data.

  • Proficiency In Programming Languages And Tools: A Senior Data Scientist At Basf Should Be Proficient In Programming Languages Such As Python, R, And Sql. They Should Also Have Experience Working With Data Analysis And Visualization Tools Such As Tableau, Power Bi, And Sas.

  • Strong Business Acumen And Communication Skills: In Addition To Technical Skills, A Senior Data Scientist Should Possess Strong Business Acumen And Communication Skills. They Should Be Able To Communicate Complex Data Insights To Non-Technical Stakeholders And Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams.

  • Knowledge Of Chemical Industry: Basf Is A Global Leader In The Chemical Industry, And A Senior Data Scientist Should Have A Strong Understanding Of This Industry. They Should Be Able To Apply Their Data Analysis Skills To Solve Unique Challenges And Drive Innovation Within The Company.
