- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on control systems and instrumentation to ensure proper functioning and safe operation of chemical production processes.
- Monitor and analyze control system data to identify potential issues and proactively address them to prevent downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to optimize control system performance and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on control systems and instrumentation to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance and repair activities for control systems and instrumentation.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices in control systems and instrumentation to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to report any issues or concerns and provide timely updates on maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while performing job duties.
- Train and mentor new technicians on control systems and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors as needed for complex repairs or upgrades.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and assist in troubleshooting and resolving any control system-related emergencies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Continuously strive for efficiency and effectiveness in control system maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders by addressing their concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment and promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Technical Knowledge And Experience: A Control Systems Technician I At Basf Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Control Systems, Including Programmable Logic Controllers (Plcs), Distributed Control Systems (Dcs), And Human-Machine Interfaces (Hmis). They Should Also Have Experience In Troubleshooting And Repairing These Systems.
Electrical And Mechanical Skills: This Role Requires A Combination Of Electrical And Mechanical Skills, Including The Ability To Read And Interpret Electrical Schematics, Knowledge Of Instrumentation And Control Devices, And Proficiency In Using Hand And Power Tools.
Familiarity With Basf Products And Processes: A Control Systems Technician I Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Basf's Products And Processes, As They Will Be Working With These Systems On A Daily Basis. This Includes Knowledge Of Chemical Processes And Safety Protocols.
Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Abilities: Control Systems Technicians Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Troubleshoot Complex Problems Efficiently. They Should Also Have Strong Problem-Solving Abilities And Be Able To Think Critically To Find Solutions.
Ability To Work Independently And In A Team: This Role Requires The Technician To Work Independently On Tasks, As Well As Collaborate With A Team When Necessary. Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With Others Are Important For Success In This Position.
