Job Description

BASF is seeking a driven and results-oriented Account Representative to join our Automotive Refinish team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with automotive refinish customers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth.   1. Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive refinish customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the automotive refinish market to drive sales growth.
  3. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  4. Actively manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts, including regular sales calls and visits.
  5. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market developments to identify potential business opportunities.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to support the growth of the automotive refinish business.
  7. Provide timely and accurate sales reports and forecasts to management.
  8. Represent the company and promote our products and services at industry events and trade shows.
  9. Continuously improve product knowledge and stay informed about competitors' products and services.
  10. Proactively address customer concerns and resolve any issues that may arise.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer-focused mindset in all interactions.
  12. Keep track of sales metrics and use data to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.
  13. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including pricing guidelines and credit terms.
  14. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery.
  15. Travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Automotive Refinish Industry: A Successful Account Rep At Basf Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Automotive Refinishing Market, Including Products, Competitors, And Customer Needs.

  • Sales Experience: Experience In Sales Or Business Development Within The Automotive Industry Is Highly Preferred. This Includes A Proven Track Record Of Achieving Sales Targets And Establishing Relationships With Key Customers.

  • Technical Knowledge: A Strong Technical Understanding Of Automotive Refinishing Products And Processes Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Paint Systems, Color Matching, And Application Techniques.

  • Communication And Negotiation Skills: As An Account Rep, Effective Communication And Negotiation Skills Are Crucial For Building And Maintaining Relationships With Customers. This Includes The Ability To Present Product Information, Handle Objections, And Close Sales.
