
Senior High Performance Computing Systems Administrator

- Maintain and optimize complex high performance computing systems to support critical defense projects.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to the HPC infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in HPC technology to recommend and implement new tools and techniques.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for HPC systems.
- Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades, patches, and maintenance.
- Ensure system security and compliance with company and government regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
- Work closely with project managers and end users to understand and meet their computing needs.
- Proactively identify potential issues and risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Continuously monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for optimization.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for HPC systems.
- Keep accurate records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and emergency response.
Extensive Experience In Managing And Maintaining High Performance Computing Systems, Including Clusters And Parallel Computing Environments.
Proficiency In Various Programming Languages Used In Hpc Systems, Such As C++, Fortran, And Python.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Linux Operating Systems And Experience With System Administration, Configuration, And Troubleshooting.
Strong Understanding Of Network Architecture And Protocols, Including Infiniband And Ethernet.
Ability To Work Collaboratively With Cross-Functional Teams And Provide Technical Guidance And Support To Junior Administrators.
