- Lead and mentor a team of machine shop operators, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain and improve upon existing procedures and processes to optimize production efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain management to ensure availability of necessary materials.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment for all employees.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in technology to continuously improve production processes.
- Communicate with upper management to provide updates on production progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Prior Supervisory Experience: A Machine Shop Supervisor At Bae Systems Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Supervisory Role In A Manufacturing Or Machine Shop Environment. This Includes Experience In Managing A Team, Delegating Tasks, And Ensuring Production Targets Are Met.
Strong Technical Knowledge: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Machining Processes, Tools, And Equipment. They Should Also Have Experience With Reading And Interpreting Blueprints And Engineering Drawings.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: Bae Systems Places A Strong Emphasis On Safety, And The Machine Shop Supervisor Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Procedures In A Manufacturing Environment. This Includes Knowledge Of Osha Regulations And Experience In Conducting Safety Audits.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Supervisor, Effective Communication Is Crucial For Success. The Machine Shop Supervisor Should Be Able To Communicate Clearly And Effectively With Team Members, As Well As Other Departments And Management.
