
Facility Security Officer (FSO)

- Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect company facilities and information.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all security regulations, including but not limited to National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Defense Security Service (DSS) requirements.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.
- Manage and maintain security clearance processes for employees and contractors, including initial clearance requests, periodic reinvestigations, and clearance transfers.
- Coordinate with government agencies, such as DSS and the Department of Defense, to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
- Train employees on security protocols and procedures, and ensure they are aware of their responsibilities for safeguarding classified information.
- Oversee and maintain security systems, such as access control and alarm systems, to protect company facilities and assets.
- Investigate and report security incidents, violations, and breaches, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Keep abreast of changes in security regulations and requirements, and make recommendations for updates to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security requirements are integrated into business operations and processes.
- Prepare and submit required security reports to government agencies and company leadership.
- Manage the security budget and make recommendations for necessary resources and equipment.
- Stay informed of emerging security threats and risks, and develop strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the company.
- Continuously evaluate and improve security measures to ensure the highest level of protection for company facilities and information.
Extensive Knowledge Of Security Regulations And Procedures: The Fso Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Security Regulations And Procedures, Such As The National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (Nispom) And The Defense Security Service Industrial Security Field Operations (Dss Isfo) Manual.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Fso Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Employees, Government Officials, And Other Stakeholders To Ensure Compliance And Address Any Security Concerns.
Experience With Security Program Management: The Fso Should Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Security Policies And Procedures, Conducting Security Audits, And Managing Security Clearance Processes.
Familiarity With Information Security Technology: In Today's Digital Age, The Fso Must Be Well-Versed In Information Security Technology And Be Able To Oversee The Use Of Classified Information Systems And Implement Appropriate Security Controls.
Active Security Clearance And Relevant Certifications: Bae Systems Typically Requires Fso Candidates To Have An Active Security Clearance And Relevant Certifications, Such As The Facility Security Officer Program Management For Possessing Facilities (Fso Pm) Certification From The Defense Counterintelligence And Security Agency (Dcsa).
