Job Description

As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our organization's databases, ensuring efficient and secure data storage and retrieval.   1. Manage and maintain the organization's databases, ensuring they are functioning efficiently and securely.
  2. Optimize database performance and capacity to meet the organization's needs.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve any database issues or errors that may arise.
  4. Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity.
  5. Monitor database activity and usage to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure database configurations align with business needs.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in database technology to recommend and implement improvements.
  8. Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  9. Train and support end-users on database functionality and provide technical assistance as needed.
  10. Develop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and data dictionaries.
  11. Participate in database design and development projects as needed.
  12. Proactively identify and address any potential database issues or risks.
  13. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates and escalate issues when necessary.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve database processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Collaborate with IT and system administrators to ensure seamless integration with other systems and applications.
  16. Work closely with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues.
  17. Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning related to databases.
  18. Keep abreast of emerging database technologies and make recommendations for their integration into the organization's systems.
  19. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive data.
  20. Adhere to BAE Systems' policies and procedures and maintain a safe and secure working environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Systems, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Database Administration, Preferably In A Large-Scale Enterprise Environment.

  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience With Database Management Systems, Such As Oracle, Sql Server, Or Mysql.

  • Strong Understanding Of Database Security, Backup And Recovery, Performance Tuning, And Data Management Best Practices.

  • Excellent Problem-Solving And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment.
