Manufacturing Engineer

Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Provides design for manufacturing (DFM) feedback to our design engineers to realize superior design efficiency and cost management. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Works with Avid & contract manufacturer’s Program Managers & Engineers for product transfers and New Product Introductions. Works with contract manufacturers and upstream suppliers to understand assembly and finished good and component manufacturing processes and acts as technical expert to ensure repeatable and reproducible quality/reliability during the life of the product(s). Participates in site reviews, audits and implementation validation at domestic and offshore contract manufacturing facilities. Manages change throughout the manufacturing process.
