We are currently seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to join our team as the Director of TRIO Programs. As the Director, you will have the unique opportunity to spearhead our efforts in providing comprehensive support to first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students in their pursuit of higher education.   1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the TRIO Programs at Asuza Pacific University.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the success and growth of the program.
  3. Coordinate and collaborate with other departments and organizations to provide comprehensive support for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students.
  4. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise program staff and student workers.
  5. Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all TRIO students.
  6. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  7. Develop and manage program budget and resources.
  8. Serve as a mentor and advocate for TRIO students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal development.
  9. Plan and oversee various events and workshops to promote student success and foster a sense of community among TRIO students.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the university and external organizations to secure funding and resources for the program.
  11. Stay current on best practices and trends in supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students in higher education.
  12. Collaborate with university administration to ensure compliance with all program regulations and guidelines.
  13. Develop and maintain relationships with alumni and partners to provide opportunities for TRIO students.
  14. Maintain accurate program records and prepare reports as needed.
  15. Act as a positive representative of Asuza Pacific University and the TRIO Programs in all interactions with students, staff, and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Director Of Trio Programs At Asuza Pacific University Should Possess A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Education, Counseling, Or A Related Field. A Doctoral Degree Is Preferred.

  • Experience In Student Services: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Providing Student Support Services, Preferably In A Trio Or Related Program. This Experience Should Include Program Development, Budget Management, And Supervisory Experience.

  • Knowledge Of Trio Programs: Asuza Pacific University Seeks A Director With A Deep Understanding Of The Trio Programs And Their Mission To Assist First-Generation, Low-Income, And Disabled Students In Pursuing Post-Secondary Education.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: The Director Of Trio Programs Must Be An Effective Leader With The Ability To Motivate And Guide A Team. They Should Have Experience In Staff Supervision, Program Evaluation, And Strategic Planning.

  • Interpersonal And Communication Skills: The Director Will Interact With A Diverse Group Of Students, Faculty, And Staff. Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships And Partnerships With Various Stakeholders. Additionally, The Director Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate The Goals And Accomplishments Of The Trio Programs To Internal And External Audiences.
