- Effectively communicate with various departments and individuals within the university to accurately and promptly relay information.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls in a calm and professional manner, following proper protocol and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism while interacting with callers and those in distress.
- Accurately document and log all incoming calls and dispatch appropriate personnel to the scene.
- Monitor alarm systems and respond accordingly to any disturbances or alerts.
- Collaborate with campus security, law enforcement, and other emergency services to ensure a timely and appropriate response to all situations.
- Stay up-to-date on all emergency protocols and procedures and be prepared to implement them at any given time.
- Remain calm and composed during high-stress situations, including but not limited to natural disasters, medical emergencies, and security threats.
- Provide administrative support to the communication center, including maintaining records and preparing reports.
- Attend trainings and meetings to stay current on communication and emergency response techniques and strategies.
- Continuously strive to improve communication processes and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the campus community.
- Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive information.
- Collaborate with other dispatchers and team members to ensure efficient and effective communication within the department.
