Job Description

  1. Effectively communicate with various departments and individuals within the university to accurately and promptly relay information.
  2. Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls in a calm and professional manner, following proper protocol and procedures.
  3. Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism while interacting with callers and those in distress.
  4. Accurately document and log all incoming calls and dispatch appropriate personnel to the scene.
  5. Monitor alarm systems and respond accordingly to any disturbances or alerts.
  6. Collaborate with campus security, law enforcement, and other emergency services to ensure a timely and appropriate response to all situations.
  7. Stay up-to-date on all emergency protocols and procedures and be prepared to implement them at any given time.
  8. Remain calm and composed during high-stress situations, including but not limited to natural disasters, medical emergencies, and security threats.
  9. Provide administrative support to the communication center, including maintaining records and preparing reports.
  10. Attend trainings and meetings to stay current on communication and emergency response techniques and strategies.
  11. Continuously strive to improve communication processes and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the campus community.
  12. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive information.
  13. Collaborate with other dispatchers and team members to ensure efficient and effective communication within the department.
  14. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, representing the university in a positive light.
