Job Description

As an Associate Director of Career Development at Azusa Pacific University, you have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of our students and alumni.   1. Develop and implement career development programs and services for students and alumni, including workshops, seminars, career fairs, and individual counseling sessions.
  2. Provide guidance and support to students and alumni in career exploration, job search strategies, resume and cover letter writing, and interview preparation.
  3. Stay up-to-date on current job market trends and industry demands to effectively advise students on career opportunities and paths.
  4. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and employers to create and maintain relationships that lead to internship and job opportunities for students.
  5. Utilize various career development tools and resources to assist students in identifying their skills, interests, and values and how they relate to their career goals.
  6. Lead and supervise a team of career counselors and support staff, providing mentorship and training as needed.
  7. Manage and maintain career development databases and systems to track student and alumni progress and success.
  8. Develop and maintain partnerships with alumni to serve as mentors and provide networking opportunities for current students.
  9. Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and initiatives related to career development and student success.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve career development programs and services to meet the changing needs of students and the job market.
  11. Serve as a resource and liaison for employers seeking to recruit APU students and alumni.
  12. Represent the career development department at campus events and external conferences and events.
  13. Act as a positive and professional role model for students, demonstrating a strong work ethic, teamwork, and commitment to student success.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with students, alumni, and colleagues.
  15. Contribute to the overall mission and vision of Azusa Pacific University by promoting career development as an integral part of the student experience.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Counseling, Higher Education, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Career Development, Counseling, Or Related Field.

  • Experience With Providing Career Counseling And Advising To Undergraduate And Graduate Students.

  • Strong Understanding Of Current Job Market Trends And Career Development Strategies.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Implementing Career Development Programs And Workshops.
