Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator (Stand-up forklift) is responsible for moving material from one location to another; keeping machine operators supplied with raw material and moving finished product away from the machine operators; scanning the material as s/he moves it from one location to another for proper inventory tracking; and general maintenance of the forklift.

• Operate stand-up lift to transport parts to and from the department
• Utilize computer system to transfer inventory as necessary
• Perform routine maintenance on forklift
• Change batteries in lift
• Requires standing or sitting (depending on type of lift) (up to 10 hours per day)
• Repetitive use of both hands and feet (up to 10 hours per day
• Constant awareness of surroundings (people and equipment)
• Requires some pushing/pulling/lifting (up to 50 lbs)
