Summer Camp Counselor

- Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all campers, staff, and volunteers.
- Act as a role model and mentor for campers, promoting positive behavior and fostering a sense of community.
- Plan and facilitate engaging and age-appropriate activities, such as games, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times, following all camp rules and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills by collaborating with other counselors and camp staff to create a positive and cohesive camp experience.
- Assist with daily tasks, such as meal preparation and clean-up, to ensure smooth operation of the camp.
- Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions and staff meetings.
- Support the camp's mission and values, promoting respect, diversity, and inclusivity among campers and staff.
- Serve as a positive representative of the American Red Cross and the Summer Camp Program at all times.
Must Be At Least 18 Years Old: The American Red Cross Requires All Summer Camp Counselors To Be At Least 18 Years Old, Ensuring Maturity And Responsibility In Their Counselors.
Cpr And First Aid Certification: As Summer Camp Activities Can Involve Physical Activities And Potential Accidents, The American Red Cross Requires All Counselors To Be Certified In Cpr And First Aid To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of Campers.
Experience Working With Children: Previous Experience Working With Children, Whether In A Camp Setting Or Other Youth Programs, Is Highly Valued By The American Red Cross. This Can Demonstrate An Understanding Of Child Development And The Ability To Engage And Connect With Campers.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Summer Camp Counselor, It Is Important To Effectively Communicate With Both Campers And Fellow Staff Members. The American Red Cross Looks For Candidates With Excellent Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Listen Actively And Resolve Conflicts.
Passion For The Mission Of The American Red Cross: The American Red Cross Is A Humanitarian Organization That Provides Emergency Assistance, Disaster Relief, And Education In The United States.
