  1. Lead the development and implementation of monitoring and observability practices at the American Red Cross.
  2. Design and implement solutions for monitoring and observability at an enterprise level.
  3. Ensure the smooth operation of critical systems and services through effective monitoring and observability.
  4. Continuously innovate and improve monitoring and observability practices to meet changing technology and business needs.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective monitoring and observability strategies.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in monitoring and observability technologies.
  7. Train and mentor junior engineers to enhance their skills in monitoring and observability.
  8. Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation related to monitoring and observability processes, tools, and solutions.
  10. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and security standards in all monitoring and observability practices.
  11. Collaborate with external vendors to evaluate and implement new monitoring and observability tools.
  12. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on monitoring and observability initiatives and address any concerns or issues.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
  14. Contribute to the overall mission of the American Red Cross to alleviate human suffering and make a positive impact in the world.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Software Development, System Administration, Or Infrastructure Engineering.

  • Extensive Experience With Monitoring And Observability Tools Such As Prometheus, Grafana, And Elk Stack.

  • Strong Understanding Of Distributed Systems And Cloud Infrastructure, With Experience In Aws, Azure, Or Gcp.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Provide Technical Guidance To Junior Engineers.
