Sr. Principal Engineer, Monitoring & Observability

1. Lead and manage the Monitoring & Observability department, including overseeing a team of engineers and ensuring efficient and effective operations.
2. Develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring and observability strategy for the American Red Cross, taking into account the organization's unique needs and goals.
3. Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in monitoring and observability, and make recommendations for their implementation within the organization.
4. Collaborate with other departments and teams to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions that align with the overall mission of the American Red Cross.
5. Ensure that all monitoring and observability systems are functioning properly and proactively address any issues or gaps in coverage.
6. Create and maintain documentation for all monitoring and observability processes and systems.
7. Train and mentor team members on best practices for monitoring and observability.
8. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including presenting updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
9. Continuously assess the effectiveness of the monitoring and observability systems and make adjustments as needed to improve efficiency and accuracy.
10. Participate in disaster response efforts as needed, utilizing monitoring and observability expertise to support relief efforts.
11. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the Monitoring & Observability department and across the organization.
