- Develop and maintain a comprehensive monitoring and observability strategy for all systems and processes within American Red Cross.
- Lead the implementation of monitoring and observability tools and technologies, ensuring they are aligned with the organization's overall technology strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address any monitoring and observability gaps or issues.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the effectiveness of the monitoring and observability strategy.
- Proactively identify potential risks or vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in monitoring and observability, and continuously improve the organization's approach.
- Train and mentor team members on monitoring and observability best practices and tools.
- Work closely with other technology teams to troubleshoot and resolve any monitoring and observability issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for monitoring and observability processes and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and leadership on the status of monitoring and observability initiatives and any potential impacts on the organization.
Extensive Technical Expertise In Monitoring And Observability Tools And Systems: A Sr. Principal Engineer In This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Various Monitoring And Observability Tools And Systems, Such As Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, And New Relic. They Should Be Able To Design, Implement, And Maintain These Tools To Provide Comprehensive Insights Into The Organization's Infrastructure And Applications.
Strong Experience In Designing And Implementing Monitoring Solutions: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Designing And Implementing Monitoring Solutions In Complex Environments. They Should Have The Ability To Architect Monitoring Systems That Can Effectively Monitor The Organization's Infrastructure And Applications, And Provide Real-Time Alerts And Notifications.
Expertise In Cloud Computing And Infrastructure Management: As The American Red Cross Is Heavily Invested In Cloud Computing, The Sr. Principal Engineer Should Have Extensive Experience In Managing And Monitoring Cloud-Based Infrastructure. They Should Be Proficient In Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, And Gcp, And Have A Deep Understanding Of Cloud-Native Monitoring Tools And Techniques.
Excellent Problem-Solving And Troubleshooting Skills: This Role Requires A Candidate Who Can Quickly Identify And Troubleshoot Issues In The Monitoring Systems And Provide Effective Solutions.
