If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton in Georgia and South Carolina.As the Senior Manager of Community Recovery for the American Red Cross, you will play a vital role in overseeing and coordinating long-term recovery efforts for these two devastating hurricanes. You will work closely with local community leaders, government agencies, and other organizations to provide essential resources and support to individuals and families in need.We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who can effectively lead a team, develop and implement strategic plans, and build strong relationships with partners. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in disaster recovery, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.If you are passionate about making a positive impact and have the necessary qualifications, we invite you to join our dedicated team and help us rebuild and strengthen the communities affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton.

  1. Oversee and coordinate long-term recovery efforts for Hurricane Helene and Milton in Georgia and South Carolina.
  2. Collaborate with local community leaders, government agencies, and other organizations to provide resources and support to affected individuals and families.
  3. Lead a team of recovery specialists and volunteers to efficiently and effectively carry out recovery efforts.
  4. Develop and implement strategic plans to address the specific needs of the affected communities.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and coordinated recovery effort.
  6. Manage and allocate resources, including finances, personnel, and materials, to support recovery operations.
  7. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including community members, partners, and senior leadership within the American Red Cross.
  8. Monitor and assess progress of recovery efforts and make necessary adjustments to ensure the most effective use of resources.
  9. Stay updated on disaster recovery best practices and trends to continuously improve recovery operations.
  10. Serve as a spokesperson for the American Red Cross and advocate for the needs of the affected communities.
  11. Facilitate meetings and trainings with community members, partners, and volunteers to ensure a collaborative and efficient recovery process.
  12. Prepare and submit reports on recovery efforts to senior leadership and funding agencies.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to safety and confidentiality.
  14. Provide support and guidance to affected individuals and families, including connecting them with necessary resources and services.
  15. Represent the American Red Cross in a professional and compassionate manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Disaster Recovery: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Managing Disaster Recovery Operations, Specifically In The Georgia And South Carolina Region. This Experience Should Include Coordinating With Government Agencies, Local Organizations, And Community Partners To Support Long-Term Recovery Efforts.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: As A Senior Manager, Community Recovery, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading A Team Of Recovery Specialists And Volunteers. The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Mentor Team Members, And The Ability To Make Difficult Decisions Under Pressure.

  • Knowledge Of Federal And State Disaster Assistance Programs: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal And State Disaster Assistance Programs, Including Fema Individual Assistance (Ia) And Public Assistance (Pa) Programs, As Well As State-Specific Programs In Georgia And South Carolina. This Knowledge Will Be Essential In Coordinating And Maximizing Recovery Efforts.

  • Excellent Communication And Relationship-Building Skills: The Role Of Senior Manager, Community Recovery Requires Strong Communication And Relationship-Building Skills. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Diverse Stakeholders, Including Government Officials, Community Leaders, And Disaster Survivors, To Build And Maintain Relationships That Support Recovery Efforts.

  • Disaster Management Certification: A Disaster Management Certification, Such As Certified Emergency Manager (Cem) Or Certified Business Continuity Professional (Cbcp), Is Preferred For This Position. This Certification Demonstrates The Candidate's Expertise In Disaster Management Principles And Practices, Which Will Be Critical In Leading Recovery Operations For Hurricane Helene And Milton In Georgia And South Carolina.
