  1. Quarantine and label donated blood products in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  2. Maintain a thorough understanding of blood safety regulations and guidelines.
  3. Conduct thorough inspections of donated blood products to identify potential contamination or other quality issues.
  4. Communicate any identified issues to appropriate personnel and take necessary steps to ensure the safety and integrity of the blood supply.
  5. Adhere to strict labeling and documentation protocols to ensure accurate tracking and tracing of all blood products.
  6. Monitor and maintain appropriate storage conditions for quarantined products.
  7. Prepare and package blood products for transport to testing facilities.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent cross-contamination and uphold safety standards.
  10. Accurately record and report all relevant data and information.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices.
  12. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the American Red Cross.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Fda Regulations: A Quarantine And Labeling Technician At American Red Cross Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Fda Regulations Related To Blood And Blood Products, As They Will Be Responsible For Ensuring That All Quarantine And Labeling Procedures Are In Compliance With These Regulations.

  • Attention To Detail: This Role Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail, As The Quarantine And Labeling Technician Will Be Responsible For Accurately Labeling And Tracking Blood Products To Ensure They Are Properly Quarantined And Released For Use.

  • Prior Experience In A Laboratory Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Laboratory, Particularly In A Blood Bank Or Blood Processing Facility, Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Experience Will Provide The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Quarantine And Labeling Technician Effectively.

  • Strong Organizational Skills: The Quarantine And Labeling Technician Will Be Responsible For Managing A Large Volume Of Blood Products And Maintaining Accurate Records. Strong Organizational Skills Are Essential To Keep Track Of All Incoming And Outgoing Products And To Ensure They Are Properly Labeled And Stored.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The American Red Cross Operates 24/7 And Processes A Large Volume Of Blood Products Daily. The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment, While Maintaining A High Level Of Accuracy And Attention To Detail.
