Job Description

In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of our blood products through meticulous testing and analysis.   1. Conduct thorough and accurate testing of blood products according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  3. Perform quality control checks and document results in a timely manner.
  4. Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during testing.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following standard laboratory safety procedures.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  7. Communicate any abnormalities or issues with test results to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  9. Stay up-to-date on new testing methods and techniques, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  10. Assist with training and mentoring new laboratory technologists.
  11. Maintain accurate and complete records of all testing procedures and results.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new testing protocols.
  13. Adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy policies.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the American Red Cross.
  15. Continuously seek ways to improve processes and procedures for increased efficiency and accuracy.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field

  • Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) By A Recognized Accrediting Agency

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Quality Control (Qc) Laboratory, Preferably In A Blood Bank Or Transfusion Service Setting

  • Strong Knowledge Of Quality Control Practices And Procedures, Including Statistical Analysis And Quality Assurance

  • Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Record And Analyze Data, With A Focus On Quality And Compliance With Regulatory Standards.
