
QC Laboratory Technologist

- Conduct quality control testing on blood products to ensure they meet regulatory standards and are safe for transfusion.
- Perform equipment and instrument calibrations and maintenance to ensure accuracy of test results.
- Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies in test results and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of testing supplies and reagents.
- Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures for all laboratory testing.
- Adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols to prevent contamination of blood products and ensure personal safety.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and departments to coordinate testing and resolve any issues.
- Participate in proficiency testing and maintain proficiency in all required laboratory procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards, regulations, and new developments in transfusion medicine.
- Train and mentor new laboratory technologists and assist with their onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all testing procedures and results.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and other team members regarding test results and any concerns or issues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the American Red Cross.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and contribute to the development of new testing methods and procedures.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Quality Control Laboratory Setting.
Knowledge Of Fda Regulations And Guidelines For Laboratory Testing And Quality Control.
Ability To Work Independently And In A Team Environment, With Excellent Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
