
Program Specialist, Disaster Services

- Coordinate and implement disaster response programs to provide aid and support to individuals affected by natural and man-made disasters.
- Work closely with the Disaster Services team to develop and manage program plans and initiatives.
- Conduct assessments and analysis of disaster areas to determine the most effective and efficient relief strategies.
- Collaborate with community partners and volunteers to ensure the timely and effective delivery of relief services.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to meet changing needs and challenges.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations, to support disaster relief efforts.
- Plan and facilitate trainings for volunteers and staff to ensure preparedness for disaster response.
- Create and maintain program documentation, including reports and statistics, to track progress and outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on current disaster response trends and best practices, and integrate them into program design and implementation.
- Represent the American Red Cross at community events and meetings to raise awareness of disaster relief efforts and encourage support and involvement.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations, in carrying out program responsibilities.
- Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors to provide updates, share challenges and successes, and collaborate on solutions.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion while working with individuals affected by disasters.
Bachelor's Degree In Disaster Management, Emergency Response, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience In Disaster Response And/Or Emergency Management, Preferably With A Non-Profit Organization.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Diverse Teams And Community Stakeholders.
Knowledge Of Disaster Response Protocols, Emergency Preparedness, And Government Regulations.
Ability To Work Independently And Under Pressure, Maintaining A High Level Of Organization And Attention To Detail.
