
Program Specialist, Disaster Services

- Plan and implement disaster response programs in coordination with the Disaster Services team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers and community partners to support disaster response efforts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and delivery of disaster services.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop response plans for areas affected by disasters.
- Train and supervise volunteers to assist with disaster response activities.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of program activities and outcomes.
- Stay updated on current disaster response best practices and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Participate in disaster response operations as needed, including on-call availability during emergencies.
- Represent the American Red Cross and promote awareness of disaster services at community events and meetings.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals and families affected by disasters, ensuring their needs are met.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during disaster response activities.
- Contribute to the development of new disaster response initiatives and strategies.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with volunteers, partners, and community members.
- Uphold the values and mission of the American Red Cross in all aspects of the job.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience In Disaster Response And Recovery, Preferably With A Non-Profit Organization.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Emergency Management Regulations And Procedures.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team.
Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Other Technology Tools Used For Data Collection And Reporting.
