In this role, you will play a vital role in coordinating and scheduling platelet donations for our national team.   1. Coordinate and schedule platelet donations for the national team of the American Red Cross.
  2. Maintain accurate records of platelet donations and scheduling information.
  3. Communicate with donors to schedule appointments and provide necessary information.
  4. Work closely with the national team to ensure timely and efficient scheduling of platelet donations.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to coordinate donation schedules and manage any conflicts or changes.
  6. Monitor and manage the scheduling system to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service to donors, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  8. Assist in the recruitment of new platelet donors and maintain relationships with current donors.
  9. Utilize organizational skills to prioritize and manage a high volume of scheduling requests.
  10. Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to platelet donation and scheduling.
  11. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and donor satisfaction.
  12. Remain updated on industry trends and best practices related to platelet donation and scheduling.
  13. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Work collaboratively with other departments and teams within the American Red Cross to support the overall mission.
  15. Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Blood Banking: The National Team Platelet Scheduler Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Blood Banking Processes, Including The Collection, Testing, And Distribution Of Blood Products. This Experience Can Be Gained Through Previous Work In A Blood Center Or Hospital.

  • Knowledge Of Platelet Donation Procedures: Platelet Donations Require Specialized Equipment And Procedures, And The National Team Platelet Scheduler Should Have A Strong Understanding Of These Processes. This Knowledge Can Be Obtained Through Training And Experience In A Blood Center Or Hospital.

  • Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills: The National Team Platelet Scheduler Will Be Responsible For Coordinating Platelet Donation Schedules For Multiple Locations And Teams. Therefore, They Should Possess Excellent Organizational Skills And Be Able To Efficiently Manage Their Time To Ensure All Donation Appointments Are Filled.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The National Team Platelet Scheduler Will Be Working With A Team Of Staff, Volunteers, And Donors. Therefore, They Should Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Coordinate Schedules, Resolve Conflicts, And Build Relationships.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment: Blood Donation Is A Critical And Time-Sensitive Process, And The National Team Platelet Scheduler Should Be Able To Work Well Under Pressure. They Should Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously And Make Quick Decisions To Ensure The Smooth Operation Of The Platelet Donation Program.
