As the Platelet Scheduler, you will play a critical role in ensuring that platelet donations are scheduled and delivered efficiently and effectively to hospitals across the country.   1. Schedule Platelet Donations: The primary responsibility of the National Team Platelet Scheduler is to schedule platelet donations from donors and coordinate with hospitals for their timely delivery.
  2. Coordinate with Hospitals: This role requires the Scheduler to maintain a close relationship with hospitals to ensure efficient delivery of platelets and to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  3. Monitor Platelet Inventory: The Scheduler must keep track of the platelet inventory levels at each hospital and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure that hospitals have an adequate supply.
  4. Maintain Donor Database: The Scheduler will be responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database of platelet donors, including their contact information, availability, and donation history.
  5. Create Schedules: The Scheduler will create schedules for platelet donations based on donor availability and hospital needs, taking into consideration factors such as travel time and donation frequency.
  6. Communicate with Donors: The Scheduler will be responsible for communicating with platelet donors to confirm donation appointments, provide reminders, and answer any questions they may have.
  7. Train and Supervise Volunteers: The Scheduler will be responsible for training and supervising volunteers who assist with scheduling and donor communication.
  8. Troubleshoot Issues: In the event of any issues or challenges with the scheduling or delivery of platelet donations, the Scheduler will be responsible for troubleshooting and finding solutions.
  9. Comply with Policies and Regulations: The Scheduler must ensure that all scheduling processes and procedures comply with organizational policies and regulations related to blood donation and delivery.
  10. Maintain Records and Reports: The Scheduler will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and producing reports on platelet donations, donor schedules, and hospital deliveries.
  11. Participate in Meetings: The Scheduler will participate in meetings with other team members to discuss and resolve any issues, share best practices, and continuously improve the scheduling process.
  12. Adhere to Confidentiality: The Scheduler must adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines to protect donor and patient information.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Blood Donation Or Transfusion Services.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Donation Procedures And Guidelines, Including Fda Regulations And Aabb Standards.

  • Excellent Organizational And Time-Management Skills, With The Ability To Prioritize And Manage Multiple Tasks.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Team Members And Blood Donors From Diverse Backgrounds.
