In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our platelet inventory is properly managed and available for patients in need.   1. Manage and maintain the national platelet inventory, ensuring an adequate supply for patients in need.
  2. Develop and implement efficient scheduling systems to maximize platelet donations and minimize waste.
  3. Communicate with regional blood centers and hospitals to coordinate platelet orders and deliveries.
  4. Monitor and track platelet usage and inventory levels, making adjustments as needed.
  5. Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of platelet products.
  6. Train and support regional schedulers on best practices for managing platelet inventory.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports on platelet inventory and utilization.
  8. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote platelet donations and educate the public on the importance of platelet donations.
  9. Assist with the recruitment and retention of platelet donors.
  10. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards related to platelet donations and inventory management.
  11. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies with platelet inventory or orders.
  12. Participate in meetings and trainings to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  13. Continuously identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  14. Represent the American Red Cross and its mission in a professional and positive manner.
  15. Support and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Blood Banking Or Healthcare Scheduling

  • Knowledge Of Blood Donation Processes And Procedures

  • Strong Organizational And Communication Skills

  • Ability To Work Independently And In A Fast-Paced Environment, Including The Ability To Prioritize And Manage Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
